I've noticed the overboard nature of the commentary. In fact, I've lost interest in the game because it's way over hyped.

I have to say what was up with that ESPN guy. I mean he was just trying to get Spike LEE to say something negative. It was so apparent. I am glad Spike Lee was restrained as he was.
Besides that I have though the coverage has been excelllent

Oh Great. They bring that racist piece of garbage Spike Lee into the booth so he can blame big whitey for all of New Orleans problems.

Kornheiser's a lightweight.

He stinks up the booth.

And seated next to Joe Theisman, that's saying something.

I'm avoiding this edition of Monday Night Football. I'm sick of this whole "this game is symbolic of New Orleans' recovery" schmaltz.   It's just a damned football game held at a stadium in which Mayor Nagin left countless people to fend for themselves for cryin' out loud.

Disgusting! Made me want to turn it off, but, then again, it's football, and I'm addicted, LOL.

NO joke~ Spike Lee should have NOT been in the press box knowing how much he HATES President Bush and blames all of this on FEMA and W! He was given ample time to spew his BS and was egged on by that baldy guy to say something PC was ENOUGH to make my stomach turn and walk away from the tube!!

Didn't see your thread until after I'd already emailed espn.

I had to turn the game off. Tony Kornheiser droning on and on, trying to egg out an anti-Bush comment. They spent more time jawflapping on Katrina than they spent recognizing the fifth anniversary of 9/11.

And then there was the Suzi interview with Archie Manning. Yeah, he went ahead and said the right stuff, but espn definitely made a programming note to turn MNF into a Why-Hasn't-Bush-Fixed-New-Orleans telethon.

And then Spike in the booth. I mean, what more do I need to say but "Spike in the booth?"

This is just gross. I hope lots of people email them to STHU and play football.

If I wanted to hear this cute crap, I'd just get it over with and go to a Dixie Chicks concert.

kornheiser is a wild lib. He pissed off millions tonight. Spike Lee is no better than Michael Moore. ESPN screwed up.

The commentary was a tidal wave of sycophantic brown nosing. Carpetbagger disaster entrepreneur, Spike Lee was as nauseating as you could possibly expect.

And, much the worst of all, Mike Vick and the Falcons couldn't have been more obvious if they had worn flippers, masks and snorkles onto the field. I could see the splash from their dive from my motel room in Amarillo. The game should have been sponsored by the WWF. Someone should nominate the Falcons for an Academy Award.

The very least which the Falcons and Saints organizations owed everyone was an honest game. We didn't get one. What we were watching was a moronic and tawdry morality play presided over by a committee of fools in the broadcast booth. Will tonight go down in history as the night NFL football jumped the shark? I believe it has in my book.

Why was it necessary for the MNF folks to have on a blatant racists like Spike Lee.

I am sick of the subtle hints that Bush has not done enough.

The phony story about the fan who was homeless and out of work buying six season tickets was just over the top for me.
