IBTZ? I can't tell if the writer is serious or not. Here's what I got from it: do we need to start doing background checks on people who run for office?
I always assumed it was modus operandi ... at least during a campaign a candidate was lauded or eaten alive by the media/public.
I think I would want my reps to be checked ... they come in contact with some interesting stuff and I don't believe everyone is capable of dealing with intelligence .... um .... intelligently.
I don't think this story deserves to be zotted. It's true that it wouldn't be of much interest to folks outside of Massachusetts but it's of interest to me because I grew up in Newton.
And,BTW,this story's of interest to me because it was Howie Carr, the author of the piece, who gave me the idea for my FR
screen name.I heard him use the phrase "Gay State" some time ago (Howie's a local Boston guy).
Howie Carr's facts are pretty reliable (I don't know much of the older history myself); he's basically conservative, and he writes and speaks with a light, humorous touch.
"IBTZ? I can't tell if the writer is serious or not."
He's serious. You can't make this stuff up if you tried.
