San Diego at St. Louis - Game 3 StL Leads 2-0
NY Yankees at Detroit - Game 4 Det Leads 2-1
NY Mets at LA Dodgers - Game 3 NYM Leads 2-0
btw, LET'S GO METS!!!!!!!!!!!!
I actually have a balled signed by the Kansas City A's in the early 60's. My dad knew people in the organization when it was in Philly and some of them went with the team when they left.
they lived to see another day.....Tigers up 4-0 on the Yanks after 3
Bonderman completely owned the Yanks today. 8-1 top of the 9th.
Steinbrenner is not going to be happy after seeing his team underachieve yet again. Would not be surprised to see Joe Torre gone next year. And I also think it's pretty safe to say that they will try very hard to get rid of Choke-Rod. Although, I can't imagine who would want him considering his ridiculous salary and history of coming up very small in the clutch.
Mets up in 10 minutes. Trachsel vs. Maddux.
LET'S GO METS!!!!
THUUUUUUUUUUUUUH YANKEES LOSE!!!
THUUUUUUUUUUUUUH YANKEES LOSE!!!
Let's go Mets
ALCS is set...NL still up in the air but leaning Mets Cards for now.
The Yankees are actually getting somewhat of a deal on him since Texas pays some (maybe a lot) of his contract.
Oct 2000.. . .The Yanks last won a World Series defeating the New York Mets in five games.
Nov. 2000....New York elects Hillary Clinton, an Illinois native who declares herself "A lifelong Yankees fan," to the Senate.
Since then it's been a series of disappointments:
2001: The usually reliable Mariano Rivera gets roughed up in the 9th inning of game 7 and the Yankees lose the World Series to Arizona Diamondbacks.
2002: An 8 run 5th inning finishes the Yankees as they Lose the Division Series to Anaheim Angels in four.
2003: Lost World Series to Florida Marlins in six in which the Marlins become the first opposing team to win the World Series at Yankee Stadium since 1981.
2004: In the biggest choke in sports history, After being up 3-0, the Yankees lose the next four and lose the Championship Series to Red Sox in seven.
2005: Yankees bat 0.194 with runners in scoring position and lose Division Series to Anaheim Angels in five.
2006: Touted by some as having the best offense of all time, the Yankees after winning game 1 in a series that everyone and their mom thought they would sweep, the Yankee bats fall asleep including a stretch where they were shut out for 20 2/3 innings and lose the Division Series to the Tigers 3-1
Coincidence? I Think not
Let's hope it also doesn't affect the Mets
Scary bottom of the 4th for the Mets. Still leading 4-2 though. Of course many Mets fans will blame Trachsel for giving up those 2 runs but I doubt even Roger Clemens could have done much better considering the jam the Mets defense put him in during that inning. Basically they made it so that he needed to get 5 outs in the inning instead of three. The result is their 4 run lead shaved down to 2.
