Self-published Christian songwriter Rebecca Hansen has no qualms regarding her participation in a film that some people are calling ‘Brokeback Hooters.’ In fact, Hansen even considered playing the lead lesbian role.

But even the Christian music angle can't redeem this film's soft-porn touch: One film poster show’s a bird’s eye view of two naked women embracing in a bathtub. The film’s trailer shows multiple scenes of lesbian love and clichéd moments, such as the now overly ripe scene of lovers eating grapes together. According to the story-line Maple Palm is about a lesbian couple of fifteen years who have been living with the secret that one of them is an undocumented immigrant. “After visiting the Statue of Liberty, the girls return home to Los Angeles, unaware that a routine security check at the icon of freedom was about to strip them of their own.”

Rick Warren just touches me as a lefty. Maybe I am wrong. It just doesnt surprise me that a member of his church would be doing a film like this.
They're lesbians, but the real secret is that one of them's an illegal alien. Oh brother.

The part of the saddleback statemant "We refuse to be judgemental about sin..." threw me for a loop! Aren't Christians supposed to be judgemental about sin? or are we to water it down, so no one is offended? (I know the answer)
I skimmed this--the original article is very long--but the issue here is that gays/lesbians can't find a path to citizenship through marriage like straights can? Yeah, this is really the climate for me to care about this, when we have millions of people streaming over illegally. Like I'd care anyway, but I'm sure not looking for ways for more of them to get here and stay. And I don't listen to this mamby pamby modern Christian bilge anyway, but I would go out of my way to not listen to this woman's music.

She may be a singer, but I very much doubt she's a Christian.
If she is a Christian, I'd hate to be her. God chastises those He loves, and His chastising is rarely 'subtle'.
