Anyway, how 'bout that Star Spangled Banner by Trace Adkins!!! Now, THAT'S what I'm talking about. I tuned in a bit late, so I don't know if there were any other performers doing "God Bless America" or some other such songs, but this is the first time this W.S. that I've caught the National Anthem (I heard Anita Baker or someone sang it before Game 2 after John Mellancamp sang his "song").
Well, let's hope for an exciting game!
Baker wasn't into it, she was mediocre. Mellencamp was even worse, and showed up a couple minutes late. He left his backup vocalists waiting for him on the field, sang poorly, and generally shamed himself. So arrogant and childish. Adkins was much better.

btw I went into Boston today with a friend from out of town (Ohio) and we walked around the perimeter of Fenway...I hadn't been around there for a while (tickets hard to get and expensive!) My friend took a few pictures (from Lansdowne St.) of the "Monster Seats"...we saw the "Game on" bar, etc.
Unlike some parks, passersby on the street can't get a view of the field from there (like at Jacobs Field)...but at least they've spiffed up the vintage 1912 park in recent years.
They were thinking of building one across the street
but Not-In-My-Back-Yard took over, plus maybe cost
considerations...and the current owners plan to stay in
the current Fenway and do rehab when needed.
OMGosh.
I thought I sat on the clicker and changed the channel to Telemundo. Geez...that was a watershed.

Casey been playing a "no doubles defense" and guarded the line, even those two might not have scored (he could have grabbed it and thrown home)
