Well you folks can say I wear a tin hat, but this is the way I have always felt:
I think it was Cuban/mafia/Connelly/Johnson.
The Cubans because of the Cuban Missile Crisis; The Mafia because of what Bobby Kennedy was doing with the investigations into the Mafia;Connelly, he was in the playpen with Johnson, and Johnson because the Kennedys never let him in on to much of what was going on...his only way to be Pres was get JFK removed...
Wouldn't surprise me if Connelly knew people to 'out' the President...and Jack Ruby to silence Oswald...
Jack Ruby as it was stated later, had cancer and he knew he was going to die anyway...
Thats how I view the Kennedy murder, be it right or wrong....
No. Governor Connally led the charge that ousted LBJ's best ideological friend, "progessive" Senator Ralph Yarborough. It was with Connally's help that Lloyd Bentsen was able to run as a Conservative Democrat in order to beat the died-in-the-wool communist Yarborough.
Thus, the Left's 2 greatest **Democratic Party** enemies were in that same car together in Texas that day: Connally and Kennedy.
Within a few more years, 3 other right-wing Democrats were attacked (House and Senate) via "muggings" and plane crashes, and surviving right-wing Democrats "found religion" by shifting Left.
The end result was that the Democratic Party lost all of its right-wing power-players. What remained in the smoky backroom halls of Democratic Party power were leftists.
No way were Connolly and Johnson involved and here's why:
1) Why would Connolly place himself and his wife, Nellie, in the car if he knew shots were going to be fired at their moving car?
2) Granted, LBJ and his wife, Lady Bird, were in the next car, but LBJ would never subject Lady Bird to any stray bullets.
3) LBJ knew Lady Bird would have left him if she ever suspected he was involved.
4) The Connollys and Johnsons remained lifelong friends. That friendship would never have lasted after LBJ left office if the Connelly's suspected him.
5) Their friendship was so close they bought vacation homes within sight of each other and could holler from one yard to the other. They owned those homes for decades and for many years it was the rare weekend that they weren't in residence.
FYI - I've seen LBJ's belly button.
