Roth has had a rough six months, and that's after getting some awfully good breaks during his first two years in the league. Right now, he's like a boxer who's been knocked down for the first time. Young men tend to think they're invincible, and the motorcycle wreck, the surgery and getting knocked out told him firmly he's human. Cowher, IMHO, should sit him for a while and let him recover.
Batch is their backup, and he's very capable. Roth's career is at a crisis point, and he could lose it all here. I heard reports that he was hearing voices after the concussion. It would be a shame for him to end up like Jerry Quarry.
And I say that as someone who does not like the Steelers. I just hate to see a guy get physically destroyed.
