The trend lately seems to be to fewer seats. They think it makes them more disirable.

36,000 seats is not bad for a baseball-only stadium. After all, what is the seating capacity of Fenway Park and Wrigley Field anyway? And those 36,000 seats will be vastly more comfortable than any seating at Fenway or Wrigley....
