This must not be aimed at me because I am not "dismayed."

Looks like you're on that thread anyway :)
Yeah, I had registered there a long time ago, primarily to protect my username from being used for disinformation.
After "lander" showed up here, I went to the thread. That thread was one of the FEW breaths of fresh air I've ever seen over there - and, even knowing that it existed (thanks to THIS thread), I doubt I could ever have found it on my own over there - it's just too hard to navigate.
It seems that most of the folks in that thread *DO* seem sincere (at the moment), but I think they underestimate the large number of disruptors from DU who have appeared here in the past to poison the well. While it's a laudable sentiment, they shouldn't fault anyone here for not taking it at face value, due to a long history of contrary indicators.
And, "lander" screwed up his chance at dialogue here by making the classic rookie mistake of posting a scolding vanity as a newbie, and thereby becoming troll-licious. It's a shame - I really think his heart is (mostly) in the right place.

We will hold our leaders to a high ethical standard and when they succumb to lust for power, WE WILL HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE. Here's the "high ethical standard" they're holdng people to:
"Nancy Pelosi wants total party discipline," a source in the Democratic Party leadership said. "If you played ball with the Republicans during this session, then you're not going to be given an important chair in the next session." As the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, Ms. Harman was expected to become chairman of the powerful committee. But Ms. Pelosi is expected to pass over Ms. Harman for either Rep. Alcee Hastings of Florida or Rep. Silvestre Reyes of Texas, the second- and third-ranking Democrats on the intelligence panel.
The 42-member Congressional Black Caucus has been pushing for Mr. Hastings, an impeached federal judge, to become chairman. Earlier this year, the caucus was upset by Ms. Pelosi's decision to expel Rep. William Jefferson from the committee after he was accused of accepting bribes.
Meanwhile, and GOP'er caught doing something even remotely unethical (let alone illegal) gets booted. So who, exactly, is it that holds their party to "high ethical standards"?
