I am unable to comprehend how campaigns against Hayworth, Weldon and Santorum were even taken seriously, let alone turned up winners.

JD has been targeted for years. There have been an incredible amount of libs moving into AZ. Incredible.

I think in the Phoenix area where absentee ballots run very high--in the several hundreds of thousands.

The one against Santorum was the name, period. "Bob Casey" works magic in PA, much like "Kenendy" in Mass.

His opponent got more votes.

Realistically, J.D. would have to get around 60% of the absentees, wouldn't he...is that probable?

"How did Hayworth lose?"

General issues, plus his opponent adopted the confusing Bush/Rove "comprehensive" immigration wordage which the suckers thought might help America.

The enoded words hide Bush's plan to create worker programs that equalize wages and salaries across the border. Few people don't understand that, and the core gets lost in some people's obsession with racial/cultural issues.

I just posted an update to the marriage ammend. which has a website link where it says the outstanding ballots remaining to be counted. Not sure how much would be for the Hayworth-Mitchell area of Phoenix.

pa is a conservative democrat state. santorum ran against a conservative democrat in casey and he got rolled. as for weldon, libs from philadelphia are moving into delaware county in droves. its unreal. i dont know if that seat will flip back to republican now for many years.

Here's a link to the AZ Repulsive

On 550 KFYI this morning...Hayworth was rather upbeat, and gave his opponent Mitchell credit for not claiming victory...of which he has not.

"Let's get the count done," Hayworth said Wednesday after visiting the Maricopa County elections office in downtown Phoenix. "There's tens of thousands of ballots that have yet to be counted."

Arizona GOP Chairman Matt Salmon told supporters Tuesday night that Democrats were celebrating too early.

"Democrats are doing cartwheels in the end zone," he said. "If you think Hayworth is going to lose this race, then you are in fantasy land."
