Slander? He's a public figure. Pretty much fair game, unless the writer KNOWS what he or she is writing is false.

How on earth is he going to go after all of us in FR? And for WHAT? Not to mention the fact that he has NO jurisdiction over the net, nor over people who live outside of his venue.

Ask Elmostafa the cabbie; the ex-husband of the accuser in the Duke case; her boyfriend; her girlfriend (all of whom were arrested after the lacrosse case began).
Ask the three indicted in the lacrosse case (cleared by DNA, but still seven months later the charges are not dropped).
Ask any of the Duke students who were harassed by Durham police, placed in cells with common criminals, told they had no rights when they complained, searched without warrants, etc.
Ask anyone arrested by the Durham police on the blank warrants handed out by Nifong's predecessor, to be filled in as needed.
Ask Leon Brown, jailed for a year on ludicrous charges of rape (even though the DNA matched another person).
Ask Demorris Lee, the reporter jailed for getting too close to Durham PD corruption.
Ask the correctional officer accused of rape, whose exculapatory evidence consisted of some phone tapes, which 'accidently' got taped over while in the DA's possession--fortunately an expert was called in over the prosecution's objections and was able to reconstruct the original conversations, and the man was shown to be innocent.
And the list goes on. . .
Tommy, maybe you and I could get together and go over there and just damn say it to his face.........LOL.
Well, we can all see that Monks gave this election to Liefong. Cheek would have won by a thousand votes if those hadn't gone to Monks.

That disturbs me. Is DHS monitoring FreeRepublic? What is that all about? If they are really concerned with security, they should monitor Democratic Underwear.
