I need help making a decision. I'm planning a weekend getaway with my wife in a couple of weeks and I want to make it special.
I'd like to give her a nice bouquet of flowers, but I'm conflicted between having the local flower shop deliver to the room after we arrive and before we head to a special dinner (tricky timing) and making arrangements with the hotel to have the flowers set up in the room when we arrive.
All kept secret from my wife until the moment she sees the flowers, naturally.
So, women of FReepdom: Which would make a bigger hit with you if you were on the receiving end? Or is there a better option I haven't thought of?

Oh, great. Now the rest of our wives are gonna expect flowers.
As a guy, I would forego the flowers and give her a tasteful negligee from Victoria's Secret instead. But that's just me.
Sometimes I'm glad my wife isn't a FReeper.
Have them set up in the room before you arrive. That will make a lovely welcome for her.
But if you are gonna do it, I'd say have them in the room when you first check in.

If its a nice hotel with a good concierge they will do all that for you. They can Have a lovely bouquet delivered to the room - a nice touch! The local flower shop may have a harder time of getting it to the room than the hotel itself. That's just my opinion. I've always called the hotel and asked the concierge to do it for him.

Sounds like your wife has a pretty special hubby! When in doubt, keep it simple - have them waiting for her in the hotel.
Most of us wives are thrilled when we get flowers for no special reason - however they're delivered.
I agree with Black Veil. They should be set up in the room. The hotel will take care of it for you, and you won't have to worry that the delivery will find you.
I would prefer if they were in the room when I arrived.

I don't know...there is something about opening the door to flowers. I would prefer that method, myself.
How good is your florist - how precise can they be in telling you when they deliver?

My POV would be flowers waiting in the room, with maybe lingerie from VS, but make it something she would feel comfortable in. VS makes that stuff, believe it or not. Don't buy the VS for you, buy it for her. Or buy two, one for you as well (not to wear of course, unless that's what you like). LOL
Maybe even a CD with romantic music along with the flowers.
