The size zero has clothing has to do with the 'smaller is better' mentality that permeates everything from fashion, to music, to movies. I've seen Laura Flynn Boyle pictures posted, complete with concave thighs and "I'd hit it!" as a caption.
A woman who was once 'hot' at a size 12 is now obese and disgusting along with the women who are 10, 8 & 6 respectively. There is little room for the majority who aren't in that range.
I actually had a bone thin dance student say "I'm not as small as I look! I'm a way bigger size....6". And she was serious.
I had a friend die of AN back in the 80s. She was literally committed to an asylum. She would do ok while she was admitted, and occasionally I'd see her at the mall "out on pass".
I guess they couldn't keep her forever...last I heard, she ultimately starved herself to death.
She was truly mentally unbalanced.
Everybody's blaming Twiggy, but I remember Twiggy (I'm really dating myself here,) and she was never anything more than a brief fad. Most people I knew, male and female, did not find Twiggy attractive at all. I was naturally underweight at the time, so I was glad to see Twiggy come along because at last there was a model who was thin and flat-chested. (Prior to that, the ideal look was more va-va-va-voom voluptuous.) It was a small comfort, though, because like I said, Twiggy didn't last long and few people really thought she looked good or tried to emulate her.
Yes, I am A+.
"I do think I am seeing a bit of a revolution in the sense that larger sizes are now being marketed in some of the 'nicer' stores. "
I recently was looking through a catalog and was shocked to see "larger" models included randomly included in the spreads. Actually, none of the models were super thin.
Look,
We 'big' girls have money too, and we like pretty clothes too!
Again, if you make it, we will buy.
I'd be thrilled to get into a 10 again! A 6 ain't gonna happen. For one thing, gravity has taken hold of me and that slender waist and small torso have gone the wayside. And, at 54, odds are it won't get a lot getter unless I drop some bucks on mesotherapy, etc. Which I will.
They don't call me Froufrou for nothing, ya know! ;o)
Hold on there, lady! That may be what the fags in the fashion industry say ....
But I know I'm not the only man out here what like a gal with a bit o' meat on her bones.
I know ya are hun, but I wish you guys would post more 'I'd hit it' pictures of women who ARE size 12 etc.
It's hard to believe otherwise when 99% of the FR males seem to think size 6 is voluptuous ;) in their postings of 'babes'.
I think Twiggy was a great model with a unique "look". Her face and especially her eyes made her memorable. Teri Reno and other top models before her were on the larger side of B-cup or C but there were not many that really fit the term "voluptuous". Lots of fashion models (as opposed to photographer's models) were flatter than Twiggy before Twiggy.
God bless the woman who knows that zoftig and happy is better than thin and miserable!
I believe Nicole is either anorexic or back on drugs.
A) I'm very happily married, and wouldn't hit it.
and
B) I'm old enough to be their father. Makes the whole business seem kind of icky.
Even so, I've had my share of things to say about gals who look like 14yo boys with (silicone) boobs. Seems some folks have latched on to the "T" and forgotten about the "A".
I was not miserable when I was thin. I was sought after. Come to think of it, I still get admiring stares from time to time, depending on what I'm wearing.
Lord, preserve us from women without butts!
Palladin, I thought you were a leg man...?
You know it, AB! Making love to a woman with no butt is like making love to an ironing board!
I've done neither.
