Well, not for nothing it was said that a fool and his money do not form a lasting relationship. Serves them right.

My Wife said the local WalMart here was letting them sleep in the gardening section of the store.
There's something wrong with those people.

I love a good stampede
You buy one for $600 and they are selling on eBay for $2000. That's pretty good work if you can get it.

We'll probably get one, but will wait for about 6 mos. or so for the all this stupidity to die down. Hopefully the price will come down a bit as well. I'll have a hard time paying $4-$6 hundred dollars for a video game.
What keeps us in PS's camp is the fact that all of our 1st and 2nd generation games can continue to be played on each consecutive system. There are just some games that I don't want to get rid of, and besides, why have a dozen different Nintendos around to keep playing old games?

I thought about trying to get one to scalp on eBay. Didn't prove to be feasible.

Instant Gratification is responsible for about 30% of our economy, so dont knock it. I paid people to stand in line, and it was worth every penny. I am selling PS3s in Europe to people willing to pay much more than the going rate. Most of those rioting are not kids looking to play a new game, but paid line-sitters who get nothing if they come away empty handed.

I'll wait until next spring when I can walk into Walmart and pick one up without injury after the ridiculous hype has worn off.

Wow - $600? I guess I should be glad the offspring decided to go with the X-Box 360 instead - I was telling him all year to wait for the PS-3. Good thing that for once he didn't listen to me.
Since I know nothing about video games except how to charge them to my Visa Card at EBX, can anyone explain the advantages of PS-3 over X-Box? Especially since it appears to cost up to $300 more.

When they put out a Grand Theft Auto that fully takes advantage of it, maybe.
I have a PS2 sitting here that has'nt been turned on in over a year, and a copy of GTA San Andreas I got maybe 15% into.
Just don't have much time for video games these days.
