Plus once a taboo is open people are fascinated. Plus there is heavy political involvement on the part of some gay people.

Yeah. As a straight white male with kids, I'll never have the political or marketing impact as a gay male.

It's a fact, but it doesn't feel so good....

I'm tellin' ya: it is weird to watch a commercial on TV and realize: "Ohhhh, that's for people who prefer a different kind of sex than I do...."

I think you may be wrong about that. Look at the vast amount of advertising to heterosexual men, white and black. ANd for "families", for kids, for housewives and women who cook, clean, etc.

Gay commericials or commercials designed to appeal to gay men are not that common. Unless you include all the fashion, hair commercials etc.
