I have a cat named Samson too (actually, it's Shimshon Ben Manoach, since I named him after the Biblical figure). He's thirteen years old; he'll be fourteen in three months.

Another of my cats will be seventeen in three months!

I had a cat named Sampson once. Looked just like your Sampson except he was black and white instead of gray and white. I also had an old yeller tom cat named Stretch. He had broken his leg at some time in his life before he found me and it had healed sticking up past his head so he ran on three legs. Funniest thing you ever saw. He was a very happy kitty in spite of his deformed leg. Is your kitty a Maine Coontail? Hes beautiful.
