If any of you are currency traders,I'd appreciate a bit of information about the (Russian) ruble: Has anybody been "shorting" it of late ? If so, who (primarily)?

I would be careful about shorting (or going long) the currency of a country that is controlled by the mafia.
There are better plays, anyway. If you think that oil, gas, and metals prices are coming down, then short the Canadian dollar or Aussie dollar. If you think that the Euro will drop, simply short that.
