She knows that her daughter is dead, and that her body will almost certainly never be found, and according to her she has come to terms with it. While giving her testimony, she said she realized that Natalee was dead about 5 days into the ordeal, but allowed herself to believe that there was at least a splinter of hope that she may be alive. Though she didn't say outright whether she still held out any hope, I got the impression that she had now accepted that Natalee was gone.
