PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. (AP) -- Nine months pregnant and married to a fervent Bears fan with tickets to Sunday's NFC Championship game, Colleen Pavelka didn't want to risk going into labor during the game against the New Orleans Saints.
Due to give birth on Monday, Pavelka's doctor told her Friday she could induce labor early. She opted for the Friday delivery.
"I thought, how could [Mark] miss this one opportunity that he might never have again in his life?" said Pavelka, 28, from the southwestern Chicago suburb of Homer Glen.
At 10:45 p.m. Friday, Mark Patrick Pavelka was born at Palos Community Hospital after close to six hours of labor.
While her husband watched the Bears play the New Orleans Saints at Soldier Field Sunday, Colleen planned to watch in the hospital with the baby wrapped in a Bears blanket -- a Christmas gift from his grandmother.

I love the Bears. They are my second fav team. But I am cheering for the Colts tonight. If its a Bears, Colts SB, I'll be rooting for the Colts.
The Pats are lookin' good. Right now anyway.
But not as good as the Colts.
My husband and I watched the Bears. Very poorly coached. and that quarter back is just plain BAD. look for the spread to be 10 points easy and the Bears to loose in the lowest rated SB in history by 42 points!
LOL! Good story. That woman sure made her husband happy, a son, AND he got to go to the game.
Contratulations to both teams for making it to the Big Dance!
Why are all the cool girls taken!
Great story!
Whoo HOOO!!! DA Bears!!! AND MY COLTS!! OMG I've died and gone to Heaven! SHEESH!! What am I going to do????? I guess, I just have to root for Peyton so everyone will just shut up about him already... I loved watching Brady lose the game for New England tonight!!! HAHA!
It was a Herculean effort, but they couldn't manage to do it.
You have to admire how hard they tried, but ultimately, it was fruitless.
The officials just couldn't manage to win it for New England.
Those refs stunk from the start, I knew Indy was in for a tough night and knew that New England was going to hold and grab all night and not get called for it.
