Granted. I think it's obvious, even from here, that these girls weren't really going to do anything. Of course, with a charge like this on their records, these girls will likely never get a job that pays more than minimum wage, if that. I hope that the taxpayers and the 'punish everyone' crowd are thinking about that when they pay their taxes for the welfare they'll need to make the rent payments on their cheapy apartments they live in.
And that's why we have to hope they can get decent lawyers, either with parents' money or pro bono, who will push the case not only to get criminal charges dropped, but all disciplinary record of the 'incident' expunged because there was, in fact, not only under common-sense judgement, but under prevailing law, no threat made.
