As we settle into the nighttime of despair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!!
Good Morning! Please join us in discussing the day's events, large and small...
Here we are....
How was the driving to the 'mat'?
Thanks for the start and ping, Molly! I was having FReepdrawals while I could not access FR!
Been super busy this AM and just saw the ping.
Also took time to peruse some articles posted and this one just caught my eye:
"Carville Slams Journalists for Not Appreciating Hillary's 'Sophisticated' Comedy"
No matter how much lipstick they put on a pig...it will always remain a pig. (My apologies to pigs everywhere!)
Good morning Molly! Had to go fix a mess at work that never should have happened. I have my appointment that we talked about, this afternoon, but right now, "Blazing Saddles" is on. Not even Rush can compete with that! ;^)
Thank you, Molly.
Lurking here
Had to informally counsel my otherwise star employee. She had been short and cross with several (high-graded) folks in quick succession--including me over the phone. Out of character, so I had to have the conversation. About 15 minutes in, it was like the brick wall just fell on her--on her own realization, she realized she had committed a major faux pas (I was dancing, hoping it would dawn on her, and we could get on with things) and broke down. In the big scheme of things, not a big thing that happened, she just needed to be aware of it and not repeat the behavior. Was at first happy to see comprehension across her face, but then the tears started. Oh, wasn't pleasent.
Note to self--get kleenex for the office.
Carolina, I'm listening to Prager discuss the Duke case in all its ignominy.
Peach, do you still wear your Star of David necklace? I sure do! Prager interviewed Zev Chafets awhile ago, and discussed Zev's new book: A Match Made in Heaven...it details the relationship between Jews and Evangelical Christians, and it sounded like a worthwhile book to read.
lysie, the 'mat was cold! Sheesh, they were counting on the driers to warm things up maybe??
Take care, ABG...
I'm plowing thru my list here....
I was almost in your position. The mistake made at work was easily avoidable, but they ignored those easy to overlook mistakes, so I had to go in this morning and fix them. When they called me last night and told me, I was tempted to give them a military-style dressing-down. I decidided to lay off and give them the loving uncle bit instead, which I found worked better, though I still have to fuss at my boss, because it turns out she ordered these clowns to assemble this piece, which they had no qualification for. She, of all people, should have known better...
Another news item out of Durham has to do w/the lead content in the drinking water there....the original record of the level of lead sent to the state office was incorrect. The correct level of lead in Durham's water supply was much HIGHER.....too much lead in the drinking water can lower humans' I.Q.
Interesting? LOL
Hi, Molly and everyone.
My computer is terribly slow so I'm not posting much because it takes so long to even post a comment.
Yes, I still wear the Star of David necklace every day. I haven't missed a day since I got it. I have one that is silver and one that is gold.
Yesterday we got Dershowitz's book The Case for Israel but I haven't had time to start it yet. That other book sounds good too, Molly and I'll look around at Amazon to see what it's all about.
Ladies you were fast to respond!
I did NOT know that the original lineup ONLY included LaCrosse players!!!!
Bit, thanks for the link to that Culture article the other day...from the Hoover Institution, I think...
Is something else going on with her??
My husband supervises more women than men, and it's not easy for him...too much emotion, non-logical thinking, "issues"...I'm a traitor to my sex, LOL!
Yes - Carolinamom is correct that the original lineup only included the Duke LaCrosse players, which sounds illegal to me.
And Nifong (fondly referred to as Liefong) had the lab withhold exculpatory evidence that none of the DNA taken from the false accuser came from any of those 40 Duke LaCrosse players! He had that evidence withheld from the Grand Jury. He's in a boatload of trouble and I've heard legal consultants say that what he's done is as unethical as anything they've ever heard a DA do.
Nifong also lied to the JUDGE that he didn't know of anything else that he could hand over to the defense.
Hmmmm...'white comments'??? As in 'write comments'??? If I were a cynical sort I would say that was Freudian, except that I don't think in that way...;-))
