Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre will return for the 2007 season, he told the Sun Herald in an exclusive interview this morning.
"I am so excited about coming back," he said. "We have a good nucleus of young players. We were 8-8 last year and that's encouraging.
"My offensive line looks good, the defense played good down the stretch. I'm excited about playing for a talented young football team."

NFL ping.
This should be good news for you right before the Super Bowl.
I remember someone telling me at the beginning of last season that the Packers would go 0-16 or 1-15. They went 8-8! I love that that poster was proven wrong--very wrong.
I don't care what the Favre and Packer haters have to say; I'm glad he's coming back for the '07 season.
I'm just happy we don't have to hear about this for many weeks to come. I give him credit for making a decision in a timely manner.
The good news, for Bears fans: This should insure that the Packers don't rebuild around a new fresh QB.
The bad news: Is that we will have to listen to another year of sportscaster doing Farve worship for a third year of Farve "lasts" at every game. e.g. "This may be the last time we see Farve play in a dome." This may be the last time we see Farve play against *******." "This may be the last time we see Farve play in September, etc. etc. etc.
