DECATUR, Ill. -- He doesn't want to do it, but die-hard Bears fan Scott Wiese is changing his name.
The 26-year-old man from Forsyth, Ill., told friends that if his beloved team didn't win the Super Bowl, he'd become Peyton Manning after the Indianapolis Colts star quarterback.
He even signed a petition in front of 200 people at a bar Friday night that he'd do it.
After the Colts defeated the Bears 29-17 on Sunday, Wiese started the process.
He trudged to the Macon County Courts Facility on Tuesday and filed the paperwork. The change still has to be approved by a judge.
Wiese said he really cares about the team and that his sacrifice represents the true passion of Bears fans.
I guess the name "retard" was taken?
FIB
At least he didn't do something stupid like tattoo himself.
Going a bit too far. But maybe with the chance he'll get offers to do a bunch of humorous commercials.
I tried changing my name to Tom Brady, but I still couldn't get Gisele Bundchen to return my phone calls !!!
"Cut that meat!"
