Realtime Weather Map
Infectious Greed ^ | March 6, 2007 | Paul Kedrosky

Oh, bliss: the Weather.com folks have brought out realtime interactive weather maps. You can, like, zoom in to your neighborhood and watch weather happening in realtime. Mind you, we don't really have much weather in San Diego, so I've been watching a rainstorm move block-by-block through Santa Barbara, but you get the idea.

Anyway, there goes the GDP -- we weather nuts may never leave the house again.

Kinda neato.

But I much prefer the Intellicast Java loop that gives you a 12 hour adjustable radar loop for the entire US or a region thereof.

The Intellicast looks good for a national view, but the Interactive Weather.com map allows you to zoom in and watch radar down to the street level - with satellite imagery of the streets and buildings.

I hadn't played with it that much...busy at work. It sounds really cool.
I'll play with it when I get home tonight...or tomorrow morning. Busy day.
