About 40 minutes ago, a coyote wondered into a Quizno's in downtown Chicago at Wabash and Adams through an employee door, laid down in the cooling area near the salads and Gator-Aid. The workers managed to keep him trapped into their cold storage unit. Animal control units have been contacted.
Also this coyote was spotted prior to entering this restaurant running down the street near Sears Tower.

Coyotes are becoming more common in the northern IL area. We have a lot of forest preserve areas in the Chicago area and surrounding collar counties.
I'm listening live to WLS AM radio live (via the website)listening to this unfolding.
The radio show callers are saying that it's like a "carnival" down there. There are about 100-150 people standing around out of curiosity. The caller just said that the US Post Office worker walked up to the Quizno's with mail, and just dropped it down and left. Could you blame him/her?!

Only in Chicago? Will this kill Mayor Daley’s chances for landing the 2012 Olympics?!

Bet the Roe Conn gang’s having fun with this one.

Minutes before, witnesses observed a Roadrunner heading into the same Quiznos.

If he has his Acme catalog with him he could be considered a terrorist.

I live up in Libertyville, where we have a real problem with coyotes, especially those of us with small pets.
All I ask is that they not release it up here. Or if they could kill it, that would be even better!

Radio Show Caller says [ILL Secretary of State] Jesse White showed up to get the coyote to sign an Organ Donor card before the animal control people showed up to pick up the animal.
(That's a local joke, folks...)

Someone must have ordered a hot fur burger to go.

Oh he probably did.... but ran too fast to be “skewered”!

Absolutely, kill it. If a coyote showed up in my resturant’s freezer, I’d shoot it a keep my mouth shut. BTW, it’s always open season on coyotes in my neck of the woods.
