The girl and her family need to be reassured that this is a highly unusual case, Berliner said. They shouldn't feel bad. |

Absolutely....don't feel bad about inviting someone whom you think is a 17 year old boy to come and live in your home as your 14 year old daughter's boyfriend, and then on top of that don't bother checking into the person's background.
This whole thing is just weird beyond belief.

Notice that (forcible) gay sex (or the problem of a family letting a “boyfriend” live-in with their underage daughter!) isn’t condemned in the tone of the article....
The MSM is just content to let it go ...

The girl needs the loving support of family and friends, said Dr. Frank Ochberg, a Michigan psychiatrist and internationally known expert on the effects of trauma.Actually, it sounds like the girl needs to be removed from her family and placed in the custody of sane people.

The parents allowed their 14 year-old daughter to have a 17 year-old boyfriend live with her? WHAT!
To: Stoat
The kid should be taken away from the parents for many reasons.

Any parents who would invite their daughter’s boyfriend to live with them are idiots.

That's when officers were told that Corpuz allegedly had beaten and sexually assaulted the girl. So was this ok when they thought she was a teenaged boy? Or did they all live in the same house and the parents never knew?
I suspect that parents who allow their teen daughter's boyfriend to move in tend to not be aware of much.

They shouldn't feel bad. No, they should feel like the stupid morons they are and be ashamed to ever show their faces in public again.

Everett and Marysville police recognized her as a woman. She may have been able to pass herself off as a man when stopped by Lynnwood police earlier this year, however.
I guess they aren't as well schooled in Lynnwood as they are up here in Marysville and Everett.

You are quite right. Very weird.
I realize 14 year old girls are often somewhat naive, but one would think she’d notice “differences” in her “boyfriend” that were a little suspicious.

I’ve been wondering how the girl could think that her “boyfriend” was a male, for a whole year. It doesn’t make sense. This is worse than the pedophiles in in AZ who were molesting the man that they thought was a 12 year old boy, enrolled in the public school.

The article mentions that English is notthe girl’s family’s native language. It doesn’t say whether the parents actually speak English at all, or what nationality they are, or whether they are here illegally. I think that there is a lot more to this story than has been reported.

Okay - final ping'o'the night, and a weird Two-fer at that. Really nothing to add, except that the woman should be beaten publicly, and the parents should - hard to say. Have their faces rubbed in it.

Corpuz persuaded the girl's family to let "Mark" live in their home as the girl's boyfriend. I just might reconsider letting that 17-year-old live in my 14-year-old daughter's bedroom.
