Need Help Buying a Shotgun (Vanity)
4/9/07 | Scottdeus

Hello all. I'm in the midst of purchasing a shotgun for my Birthday. I don't hunt, but might someday. I'll more than likely be using the gun for skeet shooting. I have two friends who have different opinions; one wants me to purchase a Remington 11-87; the other the Ruger Red Label (Over and Under).

I have a $2,000 cap limit.

Any input would be appreciated!

For $2000 you can buy several shotguns.

Get a Saiga-12. They're cleaning up at three-gun matches, and they're starting to infiltrate the skeet world. And there are US-built 10 round magazines for them now. And they're cheap, still under $500. Fairly well built and accurate, too.

Is that a shotgun (looks like an assault gun)? 12 Gauge?

Yup, AK-based shotgun in 12 gauge. It also comes in 16ga, 20ga and .410.

I like mine. A lot.

That variant of the AA-12 is not legal for civilian purchase, as it is 1) full auto and 2) made after 1986.

Yes, but I still own several for sale to children at airports.

All you need to do is drop your quarters into the vending machine.
