I agree... It seems that when mail delivery resumes things are getting back on track.

The weather in and around Oswego, NY was devastating. Eleven feet from lake effect, how can you deliver mail when you can’t see the houses and or mail boxes.

We have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us; and have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us! It behooves us, then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.

-—Abraham Lincoln

Give ear to my words, O LORD;
give heed to my groaning.
Hearken to the sound of my cry,
my King and my God,
for to thee do I pray.
O LORD, in the morning thou dost hear my voice;
in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for thee, and watch.

For thou art not a God who delights in wickedness;
evil may not sojourn with thee.
The boastful may not stand before thy eyes;
thou hatest all evildoers.
Thou destroyest those who speak lies;
the LORD abhors bloodthirsty and deceitful men.
But I through the abundance of thy steadfast love
will enter thy house,
I will worship toward thy holy temple in the fear of thee.

Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of my enemies; make thy way straight before me.
For there is no truth in their mouth;
their heart is destruction,
their throat is an open sepulchre,
they flatter with their tongue.

Make them bear their guilt, O God;
let them fall by their own counsels;
because of their many transgressions cast them out,
for they have rebelled against thee.

But let all who take refuge in thee rejoice,
let them ever sing for joy;
and do thou defend them,
that those who love thy name may exult in thee.
For thou dost bless the righteous, O LORD;
thou dost cover him with favor as with a shield.

Psalm 5 RSV

Lord, remember our nation.

Look not on the sins of those who would lead us to the pit when you find us lacking,
but on those of us who cry out to thee for help and aid,
who offer our hands to do your work,
who cry out for your strength to fight the foe,
who love your light more than the darkness.

Help us, O Lord, during this time.
Raise up leaders for us,
Open our hearts so we might choose as you want us to choose.

Help us to do your will,
this day and always,
in the peace that comes only from you.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Lift our hearts, O Lord, that we not be disquieted and cast down ...
Lift our hands, O Lord, that we might praise You in the midst of darkness and deceit ...
Lift our voices, O Lord, that Your Word continues to go forth in purity and truth ...
Join our hearts and our hands and our voices, O Lord, that Your mercy might fall upon this land.

Hear our prayer, O Lord ...
Hear our prayer, O Lord ...
Incline thine ear to us
And grant us thy peace. Amen ...

To: Knitting A Conundrum; All
This is a Beautiful Thread, Dear Knitting, and my Prayer is that our Master will Pour Forth Abundant Blessings Here, in His Name.

Thank You, our Loving God, for Your Servants who Minister Your Truth. We Worship You, O Father our King, and Ask that You be Glorified in our Lives. Forgive us, Your Majesty,for our Many Sins, and Restore us to Righteousness Again. Grant us Repentance, through Thy Loving Spirit of Grace. Have Mercy Upon us, my King, and Give us a Heart for Jesus Christ.

We Plead for Godly Men to be Sent; Men of Thy Word, Men who Love Your Blessed Name. Pull the Wicked from Office, O Lord, Replacing them with Men of Your Heart. All Glory to You, King Jesus our Lord, for the Good You are Planning to Do. Hold Back the Judgements we So Richly Deserve, and Save us for Your Mercies' Sake. O Lord, Spare us, for the Sake of 'the Ten Righteous' Ones Remaining in our Land.

We Love You, Your Grace, and Bow Before Your Royal Throne. Be Exalted, my God, in this Nation we So Dearly Love. In the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, amen.

Dear Lord God, please hear my prayer. I pray, Father, that You will raise up, in these dire days, the man of Your choice and intent to lead this nation, for, in all ways, You are in charge. I pray, Lord, that You instill in this sinful world the wisdom to repent and change it’s wicked ways. I pray that You fortify with strength and purpose those who fight to preserve the gifts with which You have blessed this great nation. And I ask, Lord, that the path to peace be brightly illuminated by Your holy Word. Thank You, Father, in Jesus’ name. Amen

The patriot who feels himself in the service of God, who acknowledges Him in all his ways, has the promise of Almighty direction, and will find His Word in his greatest darkness, a lantern to his feet and a lamp unto his paths.

—Francis Scott Key

Lord, hear our prayer,
and let our cry come to thee,
let us give our anxieties
all we hope to be
into your hand this day and forever.

We pray for our nation,
we ask for your light,
lead us to morning,
away from the night,
and guide us, this day and forever.

Tear down the blackness
that dark hearts would raise
Open our eyes,
let our tongues sing your praise
As we walk with you, this day and forever.

Send us, Lord, leaders
who follow your way
who will stand against evil,
who will do as you say,
You, O Lord, be our King, this day and forever.

The War

The war goes on, in and out of sight
For the bodies and souls and minds of men
The legions of earth and heaven fight
But always, in the end, my friend
The forces of darkness give way
To the God-sent angels of those who pray
Like the fleeing of the night
At the dawning of the day
Bombs and guns may have their say
But the important battles are fought
In a far different way
For earthly might
Can never defeat the right

Lord, teach us to see with your eyes,
that light is light,
and dark is dark,
and that truth is not determined
by the whims of the times.

Lord, teach us to work with your hands,
honestly, in love, and knowing that the little we do today matters.

Lord, help us to act in ways that please you,
choose in our day to day steps the ways that honor you,
and shed your light with all we come in contact to.

Lord, give us the strength to stand tall
in a world that longs to pull us down into the dust,
to stand for the rights of the unborn and the vunerable,
to stand for virtue in a world that longs to call virtue vice,
and to answer the call to lead when you give it.

Help us to work for your light,
this day and always, Amen.

Amen and Amen, Dear Servant of Jesus Christ.

Our Master, our Heart's Ache Over our Nation, and we Pray to be Granted Your Saving Grace. Awaken Sinners to their Precarious State, O Loving Lord Who Cares for the Lost. Help them to Embrace Jesus our Christ as their Only Salvation, their Righteousness, and Life. Bring in a Tide of Righteousness, O God; Sweep Away Evil, and Forgive us of our Sins.

Be Pleased, Your Grace, to Help Your Children Shine as Lights. Help us to Point the Way to Jesus; Cause us to Speak of Thy Love and Thy Grace.

Be Praised Forever, Great Maker of All; be Honored throughout the Ages yet to Come. We Adore You, our Kind and Caring Father, as we Pray in the Name of Your Son, amen.
