Since dropping to the lowest level on record in 2000, the U.S. rate of syphilis, a sexually transmitted bacterial disease, has risen steadily, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention officials said on Friday.

The rate rose five years in a row through 2005, the most recent year for which the CDC had figures. Reuters Pictures Photo

Gay and bisexual men accounted for 7 percent of syphilis cases in 2000 but more than 60 percent in 2005, CDC experts estimated.

"The most devastating consequence of this increase in syphilis cases would be an increase in the rates of HIV infection," said Dr. Khalil Ghanem of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore.

"Syphilis and HIV have a close, deadly symbiotic relationship."

CDC epidemiologist Dr. James Heffelfinger said syphilis, like many other sexually transmitted diseases, raises the likelihood of infection by or transmission of the human immunodeficiency virus, which causes AIDS. Continued...

Hypothetically speaking, can you get banned for posting the following?

"Women can be bisexual, but guys that bat both ways are just plain gay."

But this can’t be. Homosexuals just want life-long relationships and loving families.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. (Eyes roll)

Perversion is just as normal as being normal. Deadly diseases are all _______ (insert current Republican presidents name) fault!

WHAT, MD does that pic represent?
1.) street scene
2.) movie scene
3.) target of opportunity
4.) something else I haven't imagined

I'd like to know, in a clinical kind of context.

Their behavior is placing these men at higher risk.

Darwinian theory at work....

"Eww. Skeptoid? I had that one time Blaine. My Physician had to Lance it. He's the one got the big lance isn't he Toine?"

I'm sorry if you can't see the brilliant job I did in reducing the issue of homonormalization in the USA to it's insane essence. Your lack of clinical understanding and your rather nascent question leads me to believe you've already been HOMOgenized. So you get four snaps in a "Z" formation honey.

More importantly, have you sobered up yet? And if you have, will you answer my question?

To wit, is the photo you posted an everyday scene in your world, or does it represent some sort of 'spethial occathion' that you are wont to disseminate to us 'nascent' HOMOwhatsits? Please elucidate, you HOMOgenius, you!

The myth of “bisexual men” is just that - a myth.

A lot of gay men start out claiming the bisexual label, when in reality it is simply a way of denying being gay, for a time. The phase doesn’t usually last too long.

Interesting, and under reported, is the fact that what little AIDS has made its way into the hetero population (via sex, not drugs or bad blood) has been gay men having sex with women and passing it on. When women get AIDS through sex, it is usually from a gay man that is still switch hitting. Most don’t know about the man doing that, or they deny it. Any woman that has sex with a man that she knows is switch hitting is dumb beyond belief.
