Worms wouldn’t eat the bones, as far as I know.

Different Herod. The tomb that was found was that of Herod the Great.

I think that was Herod Antipas, who was one of the tetrarchs that followed Herod the Great. Herod the Great (according to my NIV study Bible) died about 4 BC, when Jesus was 2-3 years old. His death was the occasion for Joseph and Mary to bring Jesus back from Egypt and settle in Galilee.
