The dark green is a crepe-like polyester and I’m not sure what the embroidered overlay is. It melts when a match is held to it, instead of burning, so I am sure it isn’t natural.

It was really a very simple dress to make. The bodice is a just a short, simply cut band with one dart on each side. The skirt and the overdress attaches at the princess waist and is only slightly gathered. Then it flares out to make it full, but not too full. The dress closes with a 7” zipper in the back. The only hand sewing I did was stitching the lining at the bottom of the bodice, putting a hook and eye above the zipper, and attaching the sequens straps which were cut from the overlay material.

Thank you all for your compliments. It gives me a good feeling to know that I can make nice clothing and that my daughter wants to wear it.

Iowa Granny, I know you would have recognized most of the junk/planters this fellow used. Most were old farm items. His prices were very reasonable too.

Toby, that is wonderful news!

I’m so very glad for you and your family and especially for a very lucky little boy named Jason.

I agree with you Molly. Our republicans seem to be floundering around the 2008 election and will side with the democrats to keep themselves in DC. There are some repubs who are in name only, the reason they are repubs is because that’s the only way the could be elected. (Ron Paul) They only pretend to be conservative. They follow the democrat line very closely. Look at jeffords who used the republicans to get to DC. Republicans who have been reelected many times seem to follow rather than lead when they are the majority. I don’t understand them. We do have a few real Republicans, ie, Kyl, Cornyn.

I think that this is the best bill we can hope for, given that we lost the majorities. With a democrat president, we would probably get full-blown amnesty with immediate citizenship and democrat registration cards.

I still want to see what is in the bill. I have read some of the stories which list the provisions, and some I don't agree with and some I do...which is, I guess, the nature of a compromise.

You can buy these fairies that come on stakes for your gardens. The lady did her “fairy gardens” in large wash tubs. I also saw one made in a bucket. I think they would be fun to do around the base of a tree or in a rock garden. She used those tiny clay pots planted with small flowers, like sweet alyssum and made a woodland scene, using colored clear blue rocks, to make a small pond in her setting. She had used a heavy wire to make a U-shape to hang a small swing. It was a little like the terrariums we used to make years ago.

The rush to pass this 600 page bill is IMO one of the main reasons so many people are rising up in anger. Senators, we all know by now, do not always read bills before voting....depending on their staffs to read them, then relay the salient points. But, as "they" say, the devil is in the details.

Something as important as this one needs to be thoroughly vetted. Elected congressmen/women need to hear from their constituents before they assume they know best.

What a mess in Washington, today it is the Attorney General, tomorrow who will be the assinations target of the Democrats. Rove we know is in their sights all the time, but I got to remember, what goes around comes around. The dims are showing their true colors.
