Lake inversion. Why sequestering CO2 under the sea is a bad idea.

So that's where all the CO2 is coming from.

That potential exists in a lot of places.

For my money the sudden draining of Lake Peigneur in Louisiana was pretty strange but there were no deaths.

I remember this story when it was reported in the 1980s. I wonder if Algore figured these things into his CO2 calculations? (Doubtful).

The swirling vortex of doom was in 1980. They were drilling for oil and hit a salt mine.

Come to think of it, I recall seeing something on either the History Channel or the Discovery channel that mentioned that.

Funny, I lived in Houston in 1980 and simply do not recall that on the news. But then, I was six-years-old in 1980.

this should give you some idea how powerful the CO2 dissolved in that lake is:

No pumps needed - pure CO2 release pressure (that is an 8" diameter pipe)

Odd that the only two instances of this type occurrence both happened in Africa.

I saw something on (I think) the History Channel that this phenomenon might have explained the death of the first borns in Egypt during Moses’ plagues (the first borns slept in low beds on the floor).
