Yes I know. “Dogma uber alles”. Just ignore ALL factual reality of what Paul is actually saying

Alternatively, you could look at his multi-decade voting record rather than a 10 second sound bite.

This is a sloppy smear-job.

Ron Paul has PERSONALLY introduced legislation to repeal the Department of Education, the Department of Commerce, and various other programs.

Ron Paul’s statement on keeping such money for “education and health care” is firmly grounded in Libertarian principles going back to Murray Rothbard. Essentially, as AdamSelene235 pointed out, ANY spending by the federal
government, regardless of whether the money is from taxes or debt, transfers wealth from the people to the government:

Finite economic resources are re-directed from the private sector to the government sector. Even anarchocapitalists at the Ludwig Von Mises Institute make that argument!

Furthermore, Ron Paul has, of many, two education bills that he sponsored currently pending in Congress: HR 193 and HR 1056. HR 193 would provide a full tax deduction for money spent on college. HR 1056 calls for a 100% tax CREDIT (full reimbursement) for Americans who send their children to private school—Both primary and secondary. The latter would effectively end the socialist school system in America!

He has sponsored a bill that would provide the largest tax credit in AMERICAN HISTORY and desocialize the American Public School system and you (Perdogg, MNJohnnie, and others) say that he wants to increase federal spending on education!!! You are fools, bashing the only man who defends the Constitution and its Article I, Sec. 8 restraints. You are all statists who ache for President Benito Giuliani. The only question is whether Rudy will give his Innagural Address in Drag and how long it will take before the Giuliani Justice Department Starts Seizing Guns and Benito himself works to rescind the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban.

As a note, Ron Paul this year introduced the Sanctity of Life Act of 2007, which would declare that human life (and attached rights) begins at conception. This would effectively render all abortions murder under federal law.

But hey — he’s against an UNWINNABLE WAR so let’s all goose-step for Benito!

Thanks for your well reasoned argument. I have noticed for the last few months that every time you comment you do so using logic, rather than just calling people names.

jveritas made a statement, not an argument. He was expressing how he felt.

Listen defeatist Remember Salamis. It seems that you are missing the great news coming from Iraq which shows without any doubt that Al Qaeda will be dead in Iraq before this year ends. There is a huge rebellion against Al Qaeda terrorists by their former protectors and protectors the Arab Sunnis in Iraq. They are fighting the terrorists now everywhere and together with our brave troops and the Iraqi forces, Al Qaeda is being annihilated at a very fast rate. Al Qaeda lost the support and protections of the locals and this means it is all over for the terrorists.

In six to nine months from the whole world will realize that AMERICA WON THE WAR and that AL QAEDA HAS BEEN TOTALLY DEFEATED. We won the war despite the traitors and the defeatists and their media, and despite some defeatists like you and Ron Paul who claim to be on our side.

There is no need to argue with you Paulite anymore, I just summarize with 2 words "Stupid and Defeatist". I do not argue with defeatist and people who are too stupid to see why we are fighting this war and that we must fight it and win it till the end and we are doing so very well. Read my post 29 as a reply for one fo your gang but it applies to you as well.

What kind of people would actually do something like that?

That’s been going on for quite some time. Sheikh Sittar was conducting anti al-Qaida raids when I was deployed to Ramadi. The tribes haven’t moved more forcefully against al-Qaida because we are still occupying Iraq.

Sunni Violence is more than just al-Qaida. The nationalists and the opportunists have, and will continue to be, the primary threat to US forces—do your homework. Iraqis don’t like it when foreign jihadists kill kids with VBIEDs. They couldn’t give two sh*ts about casualties from an IED blast on US forces, other than the potholes.

And this does nothing to address the Shia side of the house, or Turkish troops, Bush’s so-called “allies”, in free Kurdistan!

You served in Iraq and you are such a defeatist?! Shame on you if this is true. I did my homework very well, you are the one who are not doing it, many of these Sunni insurgents groups are asking for US help to destroy Al Qaeda in their lands and they are shooting much less at our troops.

Sorry to disappoint, but your brave friends have already won the war against Al Qaeda and the official results of this great victory will be very well known to the world by the end of this year.

The government doesn’t have money to spend, it can only spend money it confiscates from the public. I doubt libertarian principles would be printing money. The Murray Rothbard approach to spend 1 trillion dollars on health care and education would be returning the confiscated money to public which Paul did not advocate.

Being defeatist and knowing first-hand that the IED war is unwinnable are two different things.

I can throw “defeatist” around too. You’re a defeatist for kowtowing to a liberal President and his Left-wing Wilsonian foreign policy.

At least nowhere in the entire three sentences submitted as evidence.
