Firefox has been my web browser for a couple years now, and I honestly cannot imagine using any other browser. It’s versatility and Lego style extensions make me feel like a geek in a toy store. Every few months, I head over to Mozilla’a Firefox Add-ons, and search through whatever new extensions are available. My largest problem is controlling myself, as I currently have 38 active add-ons. Many of these extensions I use on a regular basis, but a few I find come in handy on rare occasions…but what would I do if they weren’t there? I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the new Firefox 3 to leave alpha stage, as I hear it will be much lighter on resources. Just think, more add-on capacity! Here are some of my current favorite extensions…

Most firefox users are also Linux users, and zealots.
How can somoene be so worked up about a browser.. I use what came on the computer.
I think most Firefox users are sick of IE. It’s nice to have a choice, and I use firefox 90% of the time. The remaining ten percent I’m forced to use IE, and it serves to remind me why I like having an option to use something else.
38 extensions eh? Hows that memory leak working out for ya? Up to around 180-200mb yet?
I will only run MeasureIt, Firebug and CookieSafe for developing.
Anything else will just bog down your firefox along with the rest of your PC.
I have to kill FF every 4 hours or so to get some memory back. Its really disappointing.

I use a few—Adblock Plus, CookieCuller, GreaseMonkey, Remove It Permanently, and Tab Mix Plus. They make my surfing experience vastly different than most people’s. I tend to get a little disconcerted when I get on my parents’ machine as they have ads and pop-ups all over the place.

Oh and Linux users smell bad
The number of Firefox users is about an order of magnitude greater than the number of Linux users, so I don't think your statement can be true.
I have nothing but Windows XP PCs at both my home and my business. On the ones I use, I have Firefox installed, because it works faster, is more intuitive, and lets me customize it more than IE. Having a browser that works faster and acts the way I want it to act saves me time, which equals money.

I would too, if I didn't find from personal experience that I can get something better for free. I was skeptical too, when I first tried Firefox two or three years ago. But its speed, size, and flexibility leave IE in the dust, in my experience. That's not being worked up - it's saving time and giving myself a more pleasant computing experience. And most sites are now Firefox-compatible - I have the IE Tab extension but can't remember the last time I've had to use it.

Not this Linux user. Don't be so quick to judge! I use Windoze and Linux at home. Eventually, I will move off Windoze. Maybe then, I will quit taking showers, but I doubt it. :-)
I just want to ask: How does one know that one has a memory leak?

We have DELL PC’s at work and are requested to use FireFox...
I’ve been using noScript for months. I just updated to the latest version a few days ago. It’s great.
Competition improves not only the best available product in a market but many of the other products as well. It’s sad to think IE is probably as good as it is, due only to the existence of Opera, Firefox, etc. Can you imagine how bad IE would be if you had no alternatives, and Microshaft knew it?
