...pitbulls if trained properly and cared for ... That's a really BIG *IF*. Most owners do NOT fall into that category and the breed is so unpredictable that they are disasters waiting to happen.
No, they are not misconceptions about pitbulls. The breed is dangerous and unpredictable.

Dang right. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a dog lover and owned one all my life. The dog that came after me had a history of doing so not only with me but with others.

She should have shoot the dogs owner.
I agree, if a dog kills someone I say it's the death penalty for the owner, this is way out of control, these folks get these vicious dogs and love to threaten folks. I would like to see 5 or 6 breeds eliminated from the planet.

Looks like we all have our stories to tell. I used to get chased and snapped at by a big collie/shepard mix when riding my bike home from where I worked nights.
No gun, though. I used a machete.
