The name Jahmir makes me believe that the knife-wielder was a member of the ROP.
Jahmir is 13. The deceased Antwan* was 16.
I’m guessing religious devotion had very little to do with this incident.
*I am aware that this is allegedly pronounced Antoine, but if I were teaching a class and an Antwan showed up, I’d have to rhyme both syllables with “can.”
No, it’s just any name that is bizarre is considered really cool and cunning.
Jahmir and Antwan would be common black names here in inner city Los Angeles.
