(WSB Radio) -- Michael Vick has been indicted by the U.S. District Court in Richmond, Virginia. The court confirms that Vick has been indicted on two felony counts. One count is sponsoring a dog in an animal fighting venture. The second count is conspiracy. Stay with News/Talk 750 WSB for continuing live team coverage.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again..the Falcons traded the wrong QB..
He has had that in house and let it go once already.
I wonder what the contract implication are to this. Do players have a decency type clause?
Too bad Blank traded away a decent QB. Should be less than a week before Goodell hands down a fat suspension just to make sure. So much for the Falcons season.
He already traded one to Houston when he decided to keep Vick. Gaux Saints!
Well, Vick just urinated his career away.
He had a decent QB. Unfortunately, that QB now plays for the Texans.
Pitbull?
That’s why I said “maybe”. And if it does, I don’t know if an indictment alone would trigger it.
We’ll see soon, I expect.
Mike Nifong got indictments also.
Daunte Culpepper, please pick up the courtesy phone.
Yeah, but they already had Chris Miller
/sarc
Daunte is available.
Dolphins end Culpepper’s brief stint in Miami, release QB ^

You’re kidding, right?
I don’t think the Feds are playing in the same league as Nifong, on this one.
Can you imagine how many times you will hear “Who the let the dogs out” when Vick plays on the road?
Vick is probably the first person charged with having a dog in the fight since maybe, what 1811? Another ambitious prosecutor. They’ll probably indict teammate Portis for sticking up for him. See: http://asp.usatoday.com/community/tags/topic.aspx?req=tag&tag=Portis
Naw, I forgot, he’s a Clinton
And once again, Joey Harrington (Falcon's backup QB) is the cream that rises to the top of the NFL!
</demented_laughter>
Somehow I can’t see Michael owning that dog.
But...who knows?
I can’t believe Ron Mexico would get caught up in something like this.
That was my first thought. Daunte Culpepper should sign with the Falcons.
Vick would be perfect for the Bengals.
Here’s an image...several thousand PETA protestors outside EVERY Falcons’ home game..shoudl give the NFL PR staff a nice warm feeling.
Yeah, I think they did too. It'll be interesting to see how Shaub does in TX as a starter instead of playing second fiddle to a thug trackstar.
The racial politics of this case are going to be nauseating.
Actually people get charged with participating in dog fights all the time. It’s big business and the people that get busted frequently also have narcotics, you know how much cops like to be able to add drug charges.
LOL!
I was waiting for someone to mention “Ron Mexico”!
That is what I was thinking as well. I assume a conviction is needed. I would want the same for myself except I am not a “celebrity” who is supposed to protect a brand and image.
They’ll nail him for the conspiracy rap, did he take any of these dogs across state lines?
Are you sure Football fans will care what PETA protests? They gripe about hotdogs being served anyway. Besides, where do you get the thousands of PETA protestors? Rent-a-Border-Crosser (i.e. a job Americans won’t do)?
Naw, I think dog fights all happen in Georgia.
I know. He comes from such a fine family and all.
I was suprised to see Ron Mexico still available at post #23, so I had to take him.
Just another overrated nothing, like about half his peers.
They’ll manage...
Doesn't really matter that much in the NFL as contracts are not guarranteed. I player can be cut for any reason and the rest of his contract is over.
Pretty much the only implications are salary cap related.
Vick indicted? What a surprise. Say goodbye to the NFL Vick. Your career is toast.
Vick will play every game barring injury or imprisonment while awaiting trail if it goes that far. M. Vick IS just too valuable for NFL to doing anything that will result in Vick not playing every down for the Falcons this season.
Maybe under Tags but Goodell is the law and order guy, he’s been throwing around some fat suspensions without guys even being indicted and with their possible indictments being only misdemeanors. If he gives Vick less than a half season suspension the whole “get tough” approach he’s taken will lose it’s moral footing and disintegrate.
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH! Man do I feel sorry for Falcons fans.
Yes, I was kidding.
Ahem, in Georgia they are DAWG fights.
If the Falcons do sign HIm, I bet Atlanta fans will be riveted to see who wins the QB fight Joey SCAREington or DONEtay Culpepper.
I can’t say I feel sorry for them. This has been coming for awhile. After he gave all the fans the finger I left all sympathy on the curb for him. And the water bottle.....sure it had nothing. Just bling storage, uh huh.
Those guys were repeat offenders however. Vick, as far as I know, has never been arrested. The bottle he threw away at the airport was tested for drugs and came up clean.
It is fairly easily to indict someone, especially in an overly emotional issue like dog fighting.
Is Steve DeBerg still available?
Well luckily for the Falcons they were wise enough to retain Schaub.../s
What were they thinking?
