Not ready says Meg
our last meal together
no more breaking of bread
served with an attitude
I’m not ready yet
to leave this place
to laugh with friends
and provide a place
to sup together as a group
and sip cups of
rich black Colombian coffee
brewed by New York Attitude.
No one need go, post as you please
I’ll pop around to shoot the breeze
a little break, a little reprieve
is all I ask, then we can make believe.
Our house stands tall with
ivy covered walls and long
and cool concert halls
with readings and jest
-what we do best....
Just let Soaring Feather, take a rest.
A book to produce, poems to write
of far away places, deep in the night.
of magic magicians and mythical birds
and big mouthed dragons ...my soul
have you heard... A poet goes as far
as they can, then hauls in the reins
when they need, to replenish the well
with poetry food.
