I’m so sorry Brian. You’ll see him again at his very best. ALS is a horrible disease and it is a miracle in itself that your Dad kept his sense of humor. God love him!
I wish you peace.

My condolences.
My Father passed a few years ago and I still have a rough time at time believing it.

I’m sorry ... I’ll pray for you and loved ones left behind.
Your Dad is very special. I love mine too. I understand that void ... we’re fortunate ... some never had such a wonderful Dad - try to have some solace in that and look forward to when you are reunited with him for eternity.
May God bless you and lift you up over this tough time.

Brian,
The gaping hole in your heart will get smaller, very slowly, but it will. Give it time, my friend. Our prayers are with you.

My wife passed away from ALS in 1996, two years after being diagnosed. She was an RN, she trained me well.

The hole will fill with memories of your Dad. Give that time, and know I pray God's love will fill it with peace for the moment as those memories fill it in.
It sounds like your Dad was a great guy, and the world will always miss guys like him.

THANKS TO ALL!
I apologize for not knowing how to reply to multiple posts.
All your heartfelt posts mean so much.
I knew I could count on FREEPers to understand, so many of my friends
could not understand me giving my life to my parents in return for them giving me life.
It is in times like these that you truly find out who your friends are.

Brian, praying for you and your father. From your post you can tell you thought the world of him. He had a son to be proud of and you had a dad to be proud of. God Bless.
To: Brainhose
Brian, may God bless you and comfort you in your loss. There is no greater tribute you could pay to your Dad than the wonderful words you have said on this forum. Now, millions know what a special person he was.
I wish I could tell you that time will heal your wounds, but, quite simply, it won’t. My Dad has been gone for more than 10 years now. I still miss him every — and that, in itself, is a tribute to the grandeur of the man. I have a feeling it will be the same for you.
