Yesterday morning 8/8/07 @ 6AM my father lost his 5 year struggle against ALS,
He was very smart, and was a self made man who provided very well for his family through hard work and very shrewd stock investments.
He will be sorely missed by family
and a myriad of friends.
All through his struggle with a terrible disease he never lost his sense of humor.
I've been helping care for him 24/7 for the last 2 years and I now have a gaping hole in my heart that cannot be filled. He made me the die-hard conservative that I am today
My only solace is knowing that he died in peace, in my mother's arms.
God bless Dad I hope you've found peace. The pain is now over.
Love, Brian
I’m so sorry Brian. You’ll see him again at his very best. ALS is a horrible disease and it is a miracle in itself that your Dad kept his sense of humor. God love him!
I wish you peace.
I am very sorry for your loss. Prayers for you and your family.
Sounds like your pop was a great guy.
I'm sorry for your loss....
I think of my father just about everyday..and he passed away in '88.

Your Dad is very special. I love mine too. I understand that void ... we’re fortunate ... some never had such a wonderful Dad - try to have some solace in that and look forward to when you are reunited with him for eternity.
May God bless you and lift you up over this tough time.
My prayers and heart are with you and your family; I know how difficult it can be to watch a dear loved one fade away.
Brian,
The gaping hole in your heart will get smaller, very slowly, but it will. Give it time, my friend. Our prayers are with you.
I’m sorry for the loss of such a wonderful man, Brian. I’m sure he was very proud of you and always will be.
I’ll be praying for you and your family. May the love of Christ fill your home and the void in your heart. I pray that all the wonderful memories of your dad will be in the forefront of your mind. I pray for peace for your mom as well.
It sounds like your Dad was a great guy, and the world will always miss guys like him.
God bless you and your family FRiend. You are in my prayers today.
Brian, praying for you and your father. From your post you can tell you thought the world of him. He had a son to be proud of and you had a dad to be proud of. God Bless.
Brian, may God bless you and comfort you in your loss. There is no greater tribute you could pay to your Dad than the wonderful words you have said on this forum. Now, millions know what a special person he was.
I wish I could tell you that time will heal your wounds, but, quite simply, it won’t. My Dad has been gone for more than 10 years now. I still miss him every — and that, in itself, is a tribute to the grandeur of the man. I have a feeling it will be the same for you.
Sorry to hear of your loss. My sympathies. My wife lost her mom in March. We understand teh feeling.
We’ll hold you and your family in prayer.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”
