Man crashes new $400,000 Lamborghini

Ronald Tridico's dream went off the road Friday -- and so did his $400,000 Lamborghini.

Just two days after shelling out a chunk of change, his brand-new yellow sports car flew around a curve on State Road 429 and crashed. The Florida Highway Patrol says Tridico was speeding when he took the curve and lost control. He overcorrected and skidded 1,200 feet before the crash.

The 39-year-old Windermere resident told troopers that another vehicle had cut him off. But judging by the skid marks, authorities didn't believe him.

"Just because you can afford a $400,000 car doesn't mean you know how to drive it," said Sgt. Jorge Delahoz, a Highway Patrol spokesman.

“Just because you can afford a $400,000 car doesn’t mean you know how to drive it,”

I know how to drive badly for a lot less than 400K.

Windermere, eh? I’m assuming that this guy lives in one of those $6M homes right on the lake.

I’m not familiar with the area, but my assumption would be that anyone who is able to drop $400K on a car has a nice house.

I’m guessing that if you can afford a Lamborghini, you can probably afford a second Lamborghini.

Of course most cars like that have a waiting list of several years to get a new one.

For all you car buffs, here’s an interesting link.

A man bought property in Portugal. When he opened the old barn, look what he found inside:

“What an idiot!”

As I often said about drivers of prestige autos in Los Angeles:

“Rich enough to own it...
barely smart enough to drive it”

Whether or not the Portugal Barn story is true...
I do remember that when the Petersen in Los Angeles had their exhibition
of the stylish European cars of the years between WWI and WWII...
there was one car that was suppossedly discovered abandoned and
sitting under a tree in a grove in North Africa gathering dust.
