Kathy Griffin's Bravo series "My Life on the D-List" won the Emmy for "Best Reality Program (non-competition).
Her speech was memorable, in which she refused to thank Jesus.
"A lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this. He had nothing to do with this," Griffin said. "Suck it, Jesus. This award is my God now."
The comic has won that Emmy she’s long coveted.
Absolutely!As long as she asks Him to forgive her. Saying that the award is how her God is a little unrepentant wouldn’t you say?
Her comment that the award is her God was an immature, insensitive, and blasphemous remark, obviously meant for effect. But I am sure she will not create an alter and worship her Emmy.
If a foolish child rebels against her parent, the child will be punished. However, even if she screams "I hate you Daddy!" and refuses to apologize and submit, the parent won't kill or torture her. He'll forgive.

Of course he didn’t Kathy. She certainly can’t think that Jesus Christ would reward her for the vulgar, insulting drivel that she considers comedy. Her talent is definitely not “god-given.”
I remember Don Imus using the same analogy a couple of years ago. And, at the time I thought, “old boy” you will find at some point in your life just how little you are!!!
I guess she doesn't realize He will have the last word.

Cazuza (Bi-sexual Brazilian composer, singer and poet): During A show in Canecio ( Rio de Janeiro ), while smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said: "God, that's for you." He died at the age of 32 of AIDS in a horrible manner.
The man who built the Titanic After the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would be. With an ironic tone he said: "Not even God can sink it" The result: I think you all know what happened to the Titanic .
Marilyn Monroe (Actress) She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show. He said the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her. After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said: "I don't need your Jesus". A week later, she was found dead in her apartment .

Many more important people have forgotten that there is no other name that was given so much authority as the name of Jesus. Many have died, but only Jesus died and rose again, and he is still alive.

Think of the parable of the prodigal son. The son demanded all he was owed by the father and left his father's home. He then wasted all he was given and was profligate. It was only after being consumed with remorse and understanding what he'd done that he returned to a father joyous over his coming home.
That's what our Father holds out for us. The promise of a joyous return once we see our error and repent our sins. Yet, in the parable, did the father ever seek out that son? The Bible doesn't record Jesus as saying so. There's a lesson in there somewhere.

A beautiful prayer, goldstategop. Many in today's World who profess to be Christians forget that we should fear God as well as love Him. It's everywhere in the Bible, but overlooked in today's World where 'good will' and 'understanding' are such prevalent notions. We too often focus on what we want, and not on what He wants. To our detriment.
