Kathy Griffin, the star of the Bravo show "My Life on the D-List," used her appearance on the Emmy awards program to tell Jesus to "suck it" and to claim full credit for the honor for herself.
Griffin, at the 59th annual Creative Arts Emmy Awards held recently, was honored for having the Outstanding Reality Program, overtaking ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" after several attempts.
"I guess hell froze over," Griffin announced. "A lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this. He had nothing to do with this. ... Suck it, Jesus! This award is my god now."
The statement brought an immediate reaction from Bill Donohue, president of Catholic League. He called it a "vulgar in-your-face brand of hate speech" from a self-described "complete militant atheist." He also suggested The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences chairman Dick Askin take action, which wasn't long in coming.
Officials confirmed the remarks will be censored when the program airs Saturday on E!, and Donohue said it was a good beginning.
"The Academy reacted responsibly to our criticism of Kathy Griffin's verbal assault on 85 percent of the U.S. population," he said. "The ball is now in Griffin's court. The self-described 'complete militant atheist' needs to make a swift and unequivocal apology to Christians. If she does, she will get this issue behind her. If she does not, she will be remembered as a foul-mouthed bigot for the rest of her life."
He continued: "Mel Gibson. Michael Richards. Isaiah Washington. Imus. Jerry Lewis. Every time a celebrity offends a segment of the population, he pays a price, in one way or another. The question now is whether Kathy Griffin will pay a similar price for her outburst. And as we have learned, her verbal assault was calculated."

She’s a vile creature and an unfunny one at that.
This kind of thing deeply grieves me.
Oh, Kathy, if you only knew what He has done for you. May the scales fall from your eyes before it is too late.
“Officials confirmed the remarks will be censored when the program airs Saturday on E!, and Donohue said it was a good beginning. “
Censorship is not the answer. It’s what the left tries to do endlessly. Let this woman have her say, it’s up to the viewer to decide how to handle it. A couple of the many options are to feel sorry for her, pray for her, or turn the channel.
Sounds like a South Park episode.

I doubt it. Being a card-carrying member of the Godless Left, she will be protected by the neo-communists that hate any form of standard, that holds man accountable for his actions. That includes Christianity, of course. The bane of the Socialist Left.
And never never never even say Mohamed Suck it. But such is it with the liberal loonies.

I was thinking the same thing.
Before I was tempted to judge her, the famous phrase popped into my head... “there go I BUT for the grace of God”.
I could have easily been her, but decided to pray for her instead of judging her. Her comments did make me cry though. Poor Jesus, all He ever did was GOOD for us, and look how He is unjustly treated and ridiculed.
May Jesus be praised and loved for ever and ever.
Yeah, cheap Madonna redux. Not clever, not funny. Stupid.
Well, He did know she was going to say that, and He still created her...maybe He doesn’t get as offended as we do.
Obviously she screwed up big time, and revealed just how desperate she is to be accepted by the elites she requires for her stand up routine.
But why is this story being posted daily here at FR? Why pump up Kathy Griffin?
The "censorship" seems to me that the E! muckety-mucks are trying to do damage control....if 10 or 15 more people turn the channel for good..the whole network will collapse....
If only 85% of the US population were disciples of the Lord...
Mr. Donahue is sadly misinformed.
I’ve stopped defending God in such cases.
God has enough resources that, should God choose to defend him/herself, Ms. Griffin would lament that somebody much “kinder” in the entertainment industry (Disney, Oprah, etc) didn’t sue her instead. I mean, what would my email to someones publicist be in compared to a bunch of frogs, locusts, etc?
so is she going to lose her job like other stars who have said offensive things?
oh yeah...she didn’t offend gays, she just told the Savior of the world to “suck it”
