The Nipponese did take a big hit back than. They realized it was better to leave the american companies alone and just build their own auto plants in the states and hope to budda they gain back and double what they lost.
Euro and the pound are about two to one. What is funny for a consumer of europe, it is cheaper for them to buy their products in the US than at home.
I travel a lot to Asia and my currency exchange has taken a 25% hit in the last few years. SUCKS for me.
It’s really annoying for me, I like buying certain rare car parts from England - it’s gotten really expensive of late.
That said, though, it’s *great* for US companies selling to those markets. “Oh look, we just undercut EVERYONE without doing a thing!”
