If 80 percent of all disease etc has spiritual roots then reading the Bible (not his book) should be the cure. Something smells a little funny there.

Isn't he a KJV only guy too? Hmmm

Amazon reviews *(yes I sorted them by lowest rating first because I find them the most useful rather than positive ratings that tend to usually just gush emotionally saying "it's all good!")

There is a good review there by " R. Timm "love to learn" " who references James White of "The KJV-only controversy" James White is excellent. It seems Mr Wright is a KJV - only guy! Go figure. Rick Warren wouldn't condone that!

And here is an oft-recommended review of his "more excellent way" by Hampton Keathley IV at http://www.bible.org/page.asp?page_id=1687

"It certainly appears biblical, because he has a verse or two for every point he makes. I actually counted 186 verses quoted in the first 50 pages. But I didn’t find it to be at all biblical because of the way he uses scripture.
What does Wright claim? He says that diseases are caused by specific sins in one’s life. He claims that if a person repents of that sin, then we can pray for healing and the person will get well. If there is no repentance, then there can be no healing."

Hmm... Sounding kinda TBN-esque n-est-ce pas? I wonder what Job's problem was then... Seems to have been left out of the story. Maybe his sin it was having those crummy friends that told him his sickness was because of some hidden sin. Hmm...

I guess you’re just not right with God.

I agree...

I don’t think the docs know everything though. It seems a plausible explanation but I also think that it’s not just antibiotic use which “causes” these strains.

The zotted one who posted the article was obviously out in left field though. Calling the medical industry witchcraft? Really! I haven’t heard stuff like that since I last flicked past TBN!

(like the latest “hallelujah diet” and Kevin Trudeau and all these other ‘natural wonder cures’ aren’t doing exactly the same thing the accuse doctors of!)

Quite a bit of irony there.

I look at the map of where these MRSA outbreaks are occurring and I have some thoughts. But I would not post them here.

If that were true half of Hollywood would be dead. I avoid the TBN types just in case that type of crazy is contagious.

No one’s poo-pooing anyone’s grief over anything—especially a huge loss like a treasured mother!

However, the idea that a long list of folks get a free pass in violating forum rules to dump on a poster because the poster’s views were different from those hostile to the poster.

I can’t imagine a treasured mother or any other charitable person being proud of such caustic attitudes.

I have a significant list of folks who’ve profited greatly from Pastor Wright’s works and ministry . . . including myself.

Rock throwing seems to be adding yet another potent pastor, it appears.

Goodness what a rant! You are very confused and probably should not be let out all alone. I do agree with the fact that our children are in danger from the lack luster public schools. The rest is just a little twisted. Besides I take exception to the fact you called me “witch”. Free Republic is a conservative site but we are not crazy. This rant reminds me of reading Kos Kids or DU. I would say more but I note the mods have banned you. A bit of a disappointment to me ‘cause I can’t play with the troll.

Doctors are hardly “New Age” snake-oil salesmen. The New Age snake-oil people are the 1s telling us NOT to go to “western doctors”, and to take this 1 supplement pill and it solves all problems, and that this 1 problem is the cause of all your problems, etc. All without real research.
______________________________________

I actually think there is snake oil in both. The reason there is not as much research into nutrition and natural compounds as pharmaceuticals is that you can’t patent nutrition or a natural compound and make huge profits off of it. So there isn’t the funding for the research. So the docs use and recommend only what is researched adequately and scientifically, which isn’t natural compounds and nutrition, because the money isn’t there funding the research. It’s a market problem. Actually it might be an area where government funding might make sense. Of course there is no money to push for government funding, so the tax breaks and grants go to the pharam companies, the hospitals, and the universities researching artificial compounds and machines.

Good question. Today, the maps have been removed from various sites that showed them yesterday. Something doesn’t smell right.

Jim/Pam is a little boring; they are too real and attractive. It’s good for the show since it makes it more real, but not that funny. Now Dwight and Angela, that’s a match. It’s so funny and so perfect that Angela would be a cat fanatic. The clawed up freezer vegetables were funny!

Huh! I googled and didn’t find them. What were the hotspots? Immigration heavy communities? Major cities? Rural? Urban?

I had a map yesterday from Fox News, I believe. Today it is gone. It appears to me that the CDC is in CYA mode and trying to prevent a mass panic.

The map showed the outbreaks along the Eastern Seaboard from Florida up to New England. Texas and Nebraska had some additional outbreaks as well.

I also heard a quote from a medical expert who said “It has
ESCAPED (my emphasis) the health care arena” meaning that up to now, 85% had been limited to hospitals and rest homes. It is now apparently running rampant in the general population in such areas as locker rooms.

...Well excuse me. A hand full of people contracting a disease and dying from it does not justify...

I'm pretty sure that I heard this bacteria killed more people than AIDS did last year.
