This is just the right move for the Yankees. Girardi will be able to work with young players and re-build the Yankees into a team that is fun to watch. It is about time.
I agree this looks like a good move. He did pretty well with the Marlins despite having the lowest payroll in baseball.
Joe Torre was always the classiest guy in the Yankee organization. Joe Girardi has a similar reputation.
