Do I get a prize for saying hubby is guilty? I’m sure someone will be along soon to argue with me...

Two wives dead or missing within a couple of years? At the least it should raise red flags

Stacy Peterson, 23

Peterson, 53, is a 29-year veteran of the department

Peterson called her husband about 9 p.m. Sunday, Teppel said, but he did not know the nature of the phone call.

At 4 a.m. Monday, her family went to the Illinois State Police to report that she was missing.

“Sgt. Peterson is cooperating fully with the state police,” said Teppel, who added that Peterson was taking some personal time to be with family and the couple’s children. “Obviously, he’s distraught over [her disappearance].”

Contacted at his home this afternoon, Peterson declined to comment.

“I’m waiting for my attorney to advise me,” Peterson said. “If he feels I should make a statement then I will. If he advises against it, then I won’t.”

Peterson is a student at Joliet Junior College, where she is majoring in pre-nursing, said a campus spokesman.

Why would you assume he is guilty? He has been married 4 times not that being married 4 times makes one a killer, one of the wives found dead from drowning in a dry bathtub, kicked off the force for numerous reasons. Gee, he sounds like a great guy. (sarc. of course)

My question is why would a women choose to be wife #4 with this guys laundry list?

No argument for me.
It’s the husband for sure.
Hopefully they’ll reopen the other case too.
Send him away for life.

When Aikin first met Drew Peterson, “He seemed like a nice guy. He was always very nice to me.”

But in recent months, it became clear that Stacy Peterson was miserable in her 4-year-old marriage, Aikin said.

Stacy confided to her aunt that her cop husband wanted to control her every move. Drew Peterson often asked his wife if she had a boyfriend, Aikin said.

“She was very stressed in her relationship with Drew,” Aikin said. “She was on anti-depressants, and she couldn’t even sleep at night. When I saw her this last time [in October], she was having a very hard time coping with her life. She just looked lost and confused.”

Stacy Peterson told her aunt she wanted to divorce her husband, but didn’t want to lose her children.

Aikin said she last spoke to her niece on Oct. 21.

“She sounded kind of frantic, like she wanted Drew out,” Aikin said. “She was trying to kick him out. She said she would get back with me but she never did.”

Just the local media in Chicago. There were 5 of them on the weekly PBS Friday night talk show (Chicago Tonight, the Week in Review), and they all thought that since Fox News was covering this story, there was nothing to it and, "how could a police officer be involved in something like this?"

So, just like the local PD needed somebody else to do the investigation, the local media needs somebody to investigate the corruption that led to this story. In Chicago, the media is usually part of the corruption.

Oh, how we miss Mike Royko!
