There may be something here.

I only watched the 4th quarter of the game. At one point, when the Patriots had the ball, I noticed that the crowd noise was especially loud. Just after I thought that, there seemed to be a rapid fire glitch in the crowd noise that lasted several seconds (imagine a stuck record, but much faster). The announcers talked normal through that glitch, so I don’t think it was a problem with the broadcast.

If so it will not be hard for the NFL to determine if the Colts did pump in crowd noise.

I remember that now, at the time it reminded me of what happens when a CD gets stuck. Really weird.

Yep, I heard the same "skip" sound. I didn't think much of it -- I thought maybe some feed picking up the crowd noise might have had a glitch or something.

But after reading this, yeah, I definitely heard it. They turned the skip sound off pretty quickly, too, and I remember it got MUCH more quiet after.
