Parents should have nip her Internet activity in the bud with parental controls on the family computer.

MySpace - no one under 14 but it's up to parents to decide if their younger teen is mature enough to use that web site.

Actually, from what I’ve heard about the case, the parents kept very close tabs on her activity online - they didn’t even give her the password to the myspace account in question, so she couldn’t access it unless one of them was with her. IMO, they displayed a lot more repsonsibility and parental control and involvement than most parents today do with their children’s internet activity.
