I don’t think the Meiers have a criminal case. But I do think they have a civil one for wrongful death if they knew Megan was emotionally fragile and on anti-depressants. Not that there is much chance they will collect even if found guilty.

The parents are divorcing (imagine the fights they’ve had over this) and they’ll never get their daughter back. It’s just a really sad situation but the fact that a parent chose to set up a deliberate fraud rather than trying to be the adult in the situation is, in my belief, liable for civil damages.

Poorly worded. I do think the Meiers have a civil case for wrongful death if the other parents knew Megan was emotionally fragile and on anti-depressants.
